Oskido Net Worth 2023: $2 million

A musician with a net worth of an estimated $2 million, Oskido is among the wealthiest in South Africa. After more than 26 years in the music business, Oskido has established himself as a leading figure, particularly in the popular youth culture of South Africa. The seasoned South African DJ generates income via record sales, live performances, investments, and brand sponsorships, similar to many other musicians around the world. In 1992, he and Christos Katsaitis, also known as Kalawa, co-founded Kalawa Jazmee Records. It changed its name to Kalawa Jazmee Records in 1995 after combining with Trompie’s label.

Biography

Little Oscar, the son of a politician from Zimbabwe, was born in the Oukasie township (near Brits, South Africa) in 1967 and attended school in his father’s native Rhodesia before moving back to South Africa in 1987. In the early 1990s, he was working as a street vendor of boerewors sausage rolls in Hillbrow, Johannesburg, while also slipping into the Razzmatazz nightclub to DJ the closing sessions and slowing down American house music so that “Africans could dance to” it. The resident DJ didn’t show up one night, and the rest is history.

They created Kalawa Records and issued their self-titled BOP (Brothers Of Peace) collection in 1993 after later partnering up with fellow producers Don Laka and Christos Katsaitis. The label evolved into Kalawa Jazmee in 1995 after Mr. Katsaitis left, creating a network of DJs, artists, producers, and other hopefuls. Since then, Oskido has produced a large number of musicians, including Bongo Maffin, Boom Shaka, and Mafikizolo. He was also a founding member of the YFM Radio crew.

Career

When the booked DJ failed to show up at Razzmatazz, Oskido offered to perform instead, and that was the beginning of his career. He went on to produce the cassette compilations “Mixmaster” and “Big Jam,” achieving significant recognition in the nation after altering tracks and creating his own sound in the studio.

Bruce “Dope” Sebitlo, a musician from South Africa who joined the Brothers of Peace organization, was Oskido’s new business partner. Between 1994 and 2004, Oskido and Sebitlo released and produced eight albums under the Brothers of Peace moniker, among them the groundbreaking “Project A” and “Zabalaza: Project B” albums, which are considered Afro-house pioneers, as well as the kwaito classic “Makwerekwere.” Oskido is particularly well-known for his bestselling compilation series “Church Grooves,” which began in 2001 and transformed South African house compilations, making them a mainstay in the industry for the following twenty years. He started the “I Believe” project in 2012, which also serves as the title of his Metro FM radio program.

Wife

One musician with a fascinating history of marriage is Oskido. So it might not be enough to write about his wife without mentioning those who were ostensibly present before her. Oskido has a fantastic public marital image for someone who has been with multiple women. According to legend, Sanah was the bride of Oskido’s first marriage. There aren’t many specifics about how and where the two wedded, but rumors claim they wed in 2003 and got divorced in 2005.

The reasons behind their separation are unknown. But that’s typical Oskido, a man who prefers to keep his family and relationship a secret.

The singer had a relationship with Kibi following their breakup with Sanah. Before his breakup with Sanah, according to some sources, he was seeing Kibi. After growing tired of Oskido’s liaison with Kibi, Sanah reportedly ended her relationship with him. In 2006, Kibi had moved into Oskido’s house. In 2012, six years later, he had declared his intention to wed her. Then, he openly declared that he was prepared to commit to a relationship both mentally and emotionally. It’s interesting that there is no record of the marriage taking place. Three years after the kwaito musician’s significant declaration, Oskido and Kibi split in 2015.
